This is a segment We'd like to call "Down with Nabisco" As you will read we are currently very disappointed with this candy giant.

Recently Steveo and I made some snack purchases to have in our dorm. I bought a bag of Wint O Green LifeSavers and Steveo bought a classic bag of five flavor lifesavers. Now we were all excited...extremely excited...and ready to enjoy each and every one of our lifesavers. We also figured it would give the dorm a feeling of home as we put a bowl of candy out on our desk for others to enjoy. Everything seemed to be on the up and up, but we soon ran into a major problem. The horror we faced upon opening the two bags is one I hope no one has to face. Please take a look at the appalling candies that Nabisco placed in our bags. Now we are reasonable guys...we understand that candies can be broken inside the package because the bag will take a lot of abuse. BUT here is what we received. First off in the Wint O Green bag. Take a look that is a full wrapped HALF lifesaver. What game is Nabisco trying to pull here? If I'm paying for 40 lifesavers, Gosh Dangit I WANT 40 lifesavers...not 39 and 1/2 lifesavers. Is this some kind of joke? Is some cool Nabisco employee sitting around and laughing that some poor costumer like myself will receive a half lifesaver? How can I place this candy in our bowl?...it is an embarrassment. Aren't there people checking these things on the Assembly line? Candy like this should not pass inspection and wind up in our hands...we can not let Nabisco do this to us! Now take a look at the first picture again...and look at the disgrace on the left side of Steveo's hand. Someone please tell me what this is supposed to be!! It seems like there are two plastic bags attached to each other. One bag doesn't even have a candy in it while the other bag has remnants of an annihilated orange lifesaver! Yes there is one intact red lifesaver but this is a hideous sight to look at. There is nothing appealing about this sight and it makes me want to go and buy those cool little Tic Tacs that Nabisco does not make. I never see a problem with the Tic Tacs! Once again there is no way we could place this horrible sight in our candy bowl...way too embarrassing. Actually I'm even scared to put that thing in my mouth...I value my body. Please Nabisco...this is sad.

So we have taken action against Nabisco and have formally complained about our lifesavers. We want the lifesavers that we deserve, and we will not rest until the day we get them. Steveo took the liberty to write some mail to the Nabisco corp. And remember...this is not fan mail! Our proofs of purchase were placed in the letter along with the disgusting lifesavers. Steveo complained about the products we received and pleaded with Nabisco to please send us the lifesavers we deserve. We just want justice and do not want to be used and abused by a big bully company. We will keep you updated on the status of our complaint to Nabisco. Any lifesavers we receive will have their picture taken and placed on our website. We hope that your support is with us as we take on Nabisco...thank you God bless

UPDATES.... (4/7/03)

A little while ago Nabisco replied to our plea for better Lifesaver products. We actually did send the dismantled lifesavers back to Nabisco and now we have an apologetic response. Apparently Nabisco is actually owned by the powerhouse Kraft Foods INC. Steveo received two envelopes to his mailbox; one for the Wintogreen lifesaver and one for the 5 flavor lifesavor. Both contained a letter of apology and coupons for free lifesavers or any other Now and Later products or Creme Savers Products. Steveo and myself were extremly pleased to receive the letters from Kraft foods and are ready to enjoy our free lifesavers. This shows that you can have a voice when you are unhappy with your products. So whenever you get a weird looking lifesaver send it back and complain. If Steveo and I receive any more crappy lifesavers they are going right back to Nabisco. Thank you for your support through this rough time in our lives...enjoy the pics.
